Capabilities

One FIX session for aggregated fair-price market data.

Subscribe once and receive SiftingIO’s consensus fair price for crypto, forex, and commodities and metals, with the same data model as our REST and WebSocket products. The wire-level session and message detail live in the FIX API documentation.

Aggregated fair price on the wire

Receive reference prices and quote fields for subscribed instruments, with an initial snapshot followed by incremental updates. Field meaning and available sizes depend on the asset class; they do not represent executable liquidity.

One consensus price across venues

The fair price is a consensus derived across multiple venues, de-duplicated and normalized, so you consume one reference price per instrument instead of reconciling many raw feeds yourself.

Crypto, forex, commodities and metals

Subscribe to crypto from both centralized and on-chain venues, forex, and commodities and metals in a single session. Stocks are not offered over FIX.

Canonical symbology and discovery

Instruments use SiftingIO canonical codes in the Symbol field, for example BTCUSD, GBPUSD, and XAUUSD. Discover the available instrument set with a SecurityList request, or take the mapping sheet during onboarding.

Same data model as REST and WebSocket

The FIX feed uses the same underlying reference-price data as the REST and WebSocket products. Compare the same instrument and timestamp when reconciling values across transports.

Standard FIX session semantics

Logon, heartbeat, sequence numbers, and gap-fill recovery follow the FIX standard. On reconnect you receive a fresh snapshot rather than a replay of stale quotes.

Capabilities

A data feed, delivered the way trading systems connect.

FIX is an enterprise transport for consuming prices, not a route to trade. It is provisioned per account and certified against your system before it goes live.

Market data, not order flow

SiftingIO is a market data provider, not a broker. The FIX session delivers reference prices and quotes. It accepts no orders and routes no executions: there is no order entry and no execution report to act on through us.

Connectivity built for trading systems

FIX is delivered as an enterprise transport over TCP with TLS, on IP-allowlisted sessions. Specific latency, throughput, and failover terms are set per engagement, so talk to us for the numbers that apply to your setup.

Provisioned and certified per account

Access is provisioned per account: we issue your SenderCompID and TargetCompID, you connect from allowlisted IP addresses to a test session, we run a conformance pass against your system, then promote you to production.

Illustrative excerpts, not complete wire messages. Pipes stand for SOH delimiters; your FIX engine supplies BodyLength, MsgSeqNum, SendingTime, and CheckSum. The request uses MDUpdateType (265) = 1 for incremental updates. Prices and sizes shown are examples, not live market data.

FAQ

FIX API, frequently asked.

Which FIX version does SiftingIO support?

FIX 4.4 is the standard offering. FIX 5.0 SP2 is available on request for enterprise accounts.

What data comes over the FIX session?

SiftingIO's aggregated reference prices, bid and ask fields, and available size fields. You receive a snapshot on subscribe and incremental updates thereafter. Field meaning depends on the asset class: FX and metals prices can be quote midpoints, while FX and DEX quote or size fields can be derived. These are reference data, not a record of individual executions or executable liquidity.

How is the aggregated fair price derived?

It is a consensus price built across multiple venues, then de-duplicated and normalized into one reference value per instrument. It is the same fair price the REST and WebSocket products return.

Which asset classes are available over FIX?

Crypto from both centralized and on-chain (DEX) venues, forex, and commodities and metals. Stocks are not offered over FIX.

Can I send orders or execute trades over the session?

No. SiftingIO is a market data provider, not a broker. The FIX session is market data only: it accepts no orders and routes no executions.

How do I onboard a FIX session?

We provision your SenderCompID and TargetCompID and a TLS endpoint, you connect from allowlisted IP addresses to a test session, we run a conformance pass against your system, then promote you to production. The FIX API documentation covers the session and message detail.

Which symbols and instruments are covered?

Instruments use SiftingIO canonical codes in the Symbol field, such as BTCUSD, GBPUSD, and XAUUSD. You can discover the available instrument set with a SecurityList request or take the mapping during onboarding.

What are the latency, session hours, and failover terms?

Sessions run continuously for crypto and align to market hours for forex and metals. Latency, throughput, and failover terms depend on your connectivity and are set per engagement, so contact us for the specifics that apply to your setup.

How do I get access and what are the enterprise terms?

FIX connectivity is an enterprise offering provisioned per account. Contact us to discuss access, entitlements, and terms.

What support and service levels come with FIX access?

Support and any service-level commitments are set in your enterprise agreement. Contact us and we will walk through what applies to your deployment.
