Important disclosures.
These disclosures apply to all use of SiftingIO and the SiftingIO API. They supplement, and should be read alongside, the Terms of Use, the Privacy Policy, and any applicable subscription or enterprise agreement.
1. Operator and the Service
SiftingIO is a market data product (the “Service”) operated by SaltingIO LLC, a Wyoming limited- liability company (“SaltingIO,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). SiftingIO is not a separate legal entity; all customer-facing contracts, accounts, subscriptions, invoicing, taxes, and obligations relating to the Service are with SaltingIO LLC.
These disclosures form part of, and are subject to, the Terms of Use and any applicable subscription, enterprise, or data-licensing agreement (together, the “Agreement”). In the event of any inconsistency between these disclosures and the Agreement, the Agreement controls. By accessing or using the Service you acknowledge and accept these disclosures.
2. What we are not
SaltingIO is not an exchange, broker, dealer, market maker, custodian, money transmitter, securities, commodities, or derivatives intermediary, registered investment adviser, fund administrator, index sponsor, ratings agency, clearing agent, or financial institution, and the Service does not solicit, offer, route, match, execute, clear, settle, or hold custody of any trade, position, asset, or funds. The Service does not transmit, escrow, or hold value of any kind on behalf of any user.
Any reference to specific venues, instruments, ticker symbols, counterparties, or third-party brands is for identification only and does not imply affiliation, endorsement, sponsorship, partnership, or any contractual relationship with the referenced party.
3. Aggregated and derived data; no raw exchange feeds
Cryptocurrency prices delivered through the Service are aggregated, derived, normalized, and de-duplicated from multiple third-party centralized and decentralized venues. Foreign-exchange rates are sourced from one or more institutional liquidity providers and may be calculated from underlying quotes. Equities and other datasets are obtained from licensed upstream providers.
The Service does notredistribute raw, unmodified primary-exchange feeds, official exchange-of-record prices, last-sale data, full order books, depth data, or any venue’s proprietary data product. Values published by the Service are synthetic reference valuesproduced by SaltingIO’s aggregation, normalization, and fair-price methodologies, and may differ, sometimes materially, from prices observed at any specific exchange, broker, venue, counterparty, or in any specific transaction. Methodology may evolve at our discretion; material methodology changes are communicated through the changelog and, where applicable, version bumps.
4. No advice; no offer or solicitation
Information and data delivered through the Service are provided for informational and operational purposes only. Nothing on this website or returned by the Service constitutes investment, financial, trading, legal, tax, accounting, or other professional advice; an offer, solicitation, recommendation, or invitation to buy, sell, hold, hedge, or transact in any asset or instrument; the establishment of any fiduciary, advisory, or agency relationship; or a representation as to the suitability of any asset, instrument, venue, or strategy for any user.
5. Trading and market risk; user is solely responsible
Trading and holding cryptocurrencies, foreign exchange, equities, decentralized assets, and other instruments involve substantial risk, including the risk of total loss of capital, loss of access (for example lost keys, network outages, smart-contract failure, exchange insolvency, sanctions enforcement, sudden delistings, or fork events), severe price volatility, low liquidity, market manipulation, regulatory uncertainty, jurisdiction- specific restrictions, and tax consequences. Past performance is not indicative of future results.
Any decision or action taken in reliance on the data, including manual trading, automated or algorithmic trading, market making, valuation, marking, hedging, accounting, custody, or risk-management decisions, is made solely at the user’s own risk. The user assumes all responsibility for evaluating the suitability of the Service for any particular purpose, for compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, exchange rules, and counterparty terms in their jurisdiction, and for any loss arising from such use.
6. Service provided as-is; no warranties
THE SERVICE AND ALL DATA ARE PROVIDED ON AN “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, STATUTORY, OR OTHERWISE. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, SaltingIO and its data sources disclaim all warranties, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, completeness, timeliness, currency, availability, title, and non-infringement, and warranties arising from course of dealing or usage of trade.
Without limiting the foregoing, we make no representation that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that any specific datum, calculation, or output will match any particular exchange, broker, venue, transaction, model, or third-party benchmark. Data may at any time be delayed, incomplete, inaccurate, interrupted, withdrawn, or revised, and historical data is subject to revision as upstream sources correct or restate prior records. Any uptime or service-level commitments are governed exclusively by the customer’s active plan or a separate written service-level agreement, and not by these disclosures.
SaltingIO is not liable for any failure, delay, error, omission, or interruption arising from or in connection with events beyond its reasonable control, including upstream venue or liquidity-provider outages, blockchain or network disruptions, denial-of-service or malicious activity, internet, telecommunications, or cloud-provider failures, regulatory or governmental action, sanctions enforcement, war, civil unrest, labor disputes, pandemics, or natural disasters.
7. Licensing scope and usage reporting
Customers are responsible for using the data only within the scope of their license tier and for accurately reporting their usage profile, including end-user counts, professional vs. non-professional classification, application types, display vs. non-display use, redistribution scope, and the creation of derivative works.
Upon written request, customers shall provide additional usage information and reasonable cooperation in support of license verification, source attribution, and any third-party audit obligations to which SaltingIO and its data sources are subject. Redistribution of the data, in whole or in material part, including republishing as a feed, file delivery, terminal display, index, benchmark, NAV, reference rate, valuation source, or AI training, fine-tuning, or evaluation corpus, is permitted only as expressly authorized in writing under the Agreement. Material misrepresentation of usage, or use outside the licensed scope, is a material breach and may result in retroactive fees at then-current published rates, suspension, or termination.
8. Intellectual property
Underlying market data may be subject to the intellectual-property rights of originating exchanges, liquidity providers, index sponsors, and other third parties. Customers must comply with all applicable upstream licenses, attributions, and restrictions in addition to the Agreement. As between the user and SaltingIO, SaltingIO and its licensors own all right, title, and interest in and to the Service, the data, our methodology, and our software, and all intellectual- property rights in the foregoing. All trademarks, service marks, ticker symbols, and trade names referenced are the property of their respective owners; their appearance does not imply affiliation, endorsement, or sponsorship.
9. Exchange names and trading calendars
The Service references exchange names and ISO 10383 Market Identifier Codes (for example, XNYS, XNAS, XLON) solely to identify the venues whose public trading hours, sessions, and holiday calendars are described. Such names and codes are the trademarks or property of their respective owners; their use here is nominative and does not imply affiliation with, endorsement by, or sponsorship by any exchange.
Trading hours, session boundaries, and holiday schedules published through the Service are factual, publicly available information compiled and maintained by SaltingIO. They are not redistributed market data and are not derived from any exchange’s proprietary feed, last-sale data, or licensed data product. Schedules are provided for informational and operational planning only and may be revised as exchanges publish updates.
10. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL SALTINGIO, ITS PARENTS, SUBSIDIARIES, AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, LICENSORS, OR DATA SOURCES BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, GOODWILL, OPPORTUNITY, OR ANTICIPATED SAVINGS, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH USE OF, OR INABILITY TO USE, THE SERVICE OR ANY DATA, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES AND EVEN IF A REMEDY FAILS OF ITS ESSENTIAL PURPOSE.
Aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service is capped as set out in the Agreement. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages; in those jurisdictions our liability is limited to the greatest extent permitted by law.
11. Indemnification
The user will defend, indemnify, and hold harmless SaltingIO, its parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, officers, directors, employees, agents, licensors, and data sources from and against any third-party claims, demands, actions, losses, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or related to the user’s use of the Service or any data in breach of the Agreement, unauthorized redistribution, display, derivative-works, or AI-training use, the user’s products or services that incorporate the data, violation of any law, regulation, sanctions program, exchange rule, or third-party right, or any misrepresentation by the user of their usage profile that triggers liability to a data source.
12. Jurisdiction, sanctions, and availability
The Service is operated by SaltingIO LLC, organized under the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States, and is offered globally where lawful. Users in jurisdictions where the Service, any data, or any underlying instrument is restricted are solely responsible for ceasing use and accept all liability for any unauthorized use.
The Service may not be accessed by, or used to provide services to, persons or entities located in, organized under the laws of, or ordinarily resident in any country or territory subject to comprehensive U.S. or other applicable trade sanctions, or persons or entities listed on the U.S. Treasury OFAC Specially Designated Nationals list or any other applicable restricted-party list. Subscriptions, invoicing, and contractual obligations are administered by SaltingIO LLC.
